Isla Jane is 18 months! | Atlanta Child Photographer

I first met baby Isla Jane when she was one month old… and I was 2 weeks out from giving birth myself!  It was such a special time to photograph a precious little baby, and offered a lot of insight into how my life would change in just a few short weeks. Maybe that is why this little girl strikes me especially special. Or maybe it is her independent spirit, or her million dollar grin.  Whatever it is, I think you’ll agree that she made quite the beautiful and captivating subject 🙂

Also: funny story.  I always encourage my clients to bring props (I even offer styling consultations for clients who want extra direction)… and LOVE to incorporate them in photos in creative ways.  Isla Jane’s mom has excellent taste, and brought all kinds of whimsical props for Isla’s photos… but it was almost like when you give a baby birthday presents, and she is more interested in the wrapping paper and boxes than the stuff inside.  10-1, Isla Jane preferred playing, singing, and exploring, over her blabla dolls and shabby-chic furniture we wanted her to climb on!  She tolerated a few of our props, but she saved her most gorgeous expressions for moments that she was truly happy… like when Daddy threw leaves up in the air, or when we sang the itsy bitsy spider (complete with hand motions).  Don’t you kind of love that?  I am so blessed that observing this kind of innocence and bliss is part of my job… it is serious soul food.
