So I do a lot of shooting around the holidays, and each session ends up being special in its own way.

But anyone who knows me knows that I love a concept; it just gives me such vision and direction when I shoot!

When Allison suggested that we meet at the site of their s00n-to-be new home on their vast property, I thought– great, nature is my sweet spot!

But when she contacted me a few days before her shoot, she hinted that she might be considering making the shoot also about her 40th birthday (the day of our shoot!).

And she wanted to include her best friend, visiting from Nashville.

And 40 balloons.

And champagne.

Well, you know where I am going with this.

I loved every minute of this session, and loved that it was a celebration of family, friendship, future home and a milestone birthday.

I love working with this precious family, and watching these adorable boys grow from infants to big kids!
