Chris & Wendy Expecting! | Atlanta Maternity Photographer

So normally I try to focus on the pictures and not write paragraphs and paragraphs about my clients, how I know them, what happened during the session, etc. Because, I am sure y’all want me to cut to the chase, right?

Hahaha, well, maybe its because I am stuck inside during this crazy Atlanta weather and am feeling a little chatty, but today I just couldn’t resist telling a little back story on this client… 🙂

So Chris’s parents (along with Chris, and his sister, Ashley, before they grew up!) have been next-door-neighbors with my grandparents for as long as I can remember.

And I’m not talking about the kind of neighbors most people have these days. I’m talking about the kind of neighbors who take care of each other, talk on the phone, do favors for each other, bake cakes for each other, and laugh and cry together.

A rare thing these days, for sure.

And since Chris’s family has always been special to my grandparents, I spent a lot of time around them in my childhood… and it was inevitable that his family would become special to me as well.

Though often, years pass between times that I actually see Chris and his sister, my grandmother keeps me up to date on what is going on with them as if they were distant cousins I had not seen in a while. “Did you know that Chris is going to become a dentist? He came over and told me all about it.” “Did you know that Chris is getting married?” And so on!

So it was such a wonderful surprise when Chris emailed to tell me that he and his beautiful wife, Wendy, were expecting twins, and that they wanted me to photograph their journey from pregnancy through their twins’ first weeks 🙂

This maternity session was the first of two shoots I’ll be doing for them over the coming months. The next one will feature some fresh little babies, so stay tuned!

Wendy and Chris will be fabulous (and busy!) parents, and I could not be happier that they are bringing two brand new humans into the world in March! Congrats, you guys!
