When I was a little girl, I used to take ballet at the Creative Arts Guild in Dalton, GA (I was pretty terrible… it is just about the only art form I’d rather watch than participate in!). And before class, I’d peruse the galleries, and think how amazing it must be to have your work on display for the world to see.

Well, this Friday is my first fine art exhibition, “Perspectives” (the two photos above are a few of my favorites from the collection) at the Creative Arts Guild. It is a collection historic building signage abstractions. I wanted to exhibit work that Daltonians could relate to, so I have taken most of the photos in the collection in and around Dalton; however, the angles and techniques I’ve used add lots of drama and interest to the photos that would be missed in literal photography.

This art photography venture has been quite the branching-out experience for me (since I live and breathe portraiture) but I couldn’t be more excited to expand my boundaries.
