Stella Rose may resemble a newborn (and by gestational age, she was!) in shots where she was wrapped snugly and sleeping… but she had just turned 3-months old when we took these photos a few weeks ago, and let me tell you, she was strong, alert and had every bit of a 3-month old personality!

After spending 4+ weeks in the hospital getting strong after surprising her parents with an early birth, she was well outside of the typical newborn session window, but we decided that since she still had a bit of a newborn look size-wise, that we’d try for some sleepy shots.

She was amenable to just about anything, so long as she was swaddled… so swaddled she stayed!

My heart was overflowing as I watched Stella Rose’s sisters dote on her; Emma Kate (middle girl) was especially thrilled when it was her turn to hold her sister for the first time, and did not want to release her.

And Anna Grace was such a big girl, singing sweetly and adorning Stella Rose with kisses.

I’ve loved watching this precious family as they celebrate each child they’ve been blessed with– it is one of my greatest joys as a photographer!
